Interesting clip from Tom Peters. Now , I don’t agree with his overarching statement that “Innovation is Actually Easy” – which I’m sure is intended as hyperbole; but I think that his message about the importance of not just following/benchmarking existing players is a critical one. Of course, looking at existing players is important for gaining a current understanding of a category. However, it shouldn’t be your only source for business model inspiration. A current situation analysis should be a foundational starting point during the innovation process, but don’t allow it to limit creativity! YouTube – Tom Peters: Innovation is Actually Easy!.
